Oh, little Duke’s first night…what an adventure. What everyone says is absolutely true, it was a sleepless night. Duke would whine…Aaron or I would go to his crate and grab him for a quick snuggle, then put him back. A few minutes would pass and just when my heavy eyes would fall, little Duke would whine again and the whole process would start over. Aaron and I slept out in the living room with him, thinking it would ease his mind if he could see us but obviously we were strangers to him so it didn’t help. Read the rest of this entry »

The puggle breed is fairly new (at least as an intentional breed anyway). Information on puggles was hard to come by and I thought it would be impossible to find a breeder in our area. But we pushed on. We searched for a few weeks. I think I called every animal shelter in the state. We searched all of the puppy finder websites. We couldn’t find a puggle in the Wilmington, North Carolina area or within 150 miles. I remembered that the woman on the beach had gotten her puggle in Montana and had him flown to her. He is an eight week old puggle (i.e. his mom is a beagle and his dad is a pug). The road to finding our little Duke has been hard but the journey has been fun.
