Another Puggle’s (1st) Birthday!
Gracie turned one this past Thanksgiving and boy has that little puggle come a long way. She’s all grown up now; literally… she won’t get any bigger. We gave her a little extra kibble for breakfast that morning as a special treat so that she wouldn’t hound us for scraps all day while we prepared Thanksgiving dinner (pun intended). Then we all gathered for family pictures, and as you can tell from the picture on the left, Gracie was thrilled to wear her birthday hat.
Then after she and her Dad (me) watched a little football, and after the guests arrived, it was time for the cake ceremony.
We got her an organic, bone shaped, pumpkin flavored cake in spirit of the holiday season from a local dog bakery. It read “Yappy Barkday Gracie” and she gobbled it up. Her brother Duke got a doggie ice cream treat as well just to be fair, and so that he wouldn’t go after her special treat.
After all that, it was time for the grown-ups to enjoy themselves. We sat and enjoyed a feast, and because I’m the sucker that I am, Duke and Gracie both enjoyed some leftover “puggle” turkey as well. It was a fantastic holiday, and birthday celebration all rolled into one. Daddy will remember the day his little girl became a women for years to come. LOL
