We picked our precious little Duke out amongst his 4 sisters (again, I wanted a little girl puggle but Duke stole my heart). We picked Duke, without knowing he was a boy, because he was so sweet. His little sisters were tugging at his ears and bitting at his tiny ankles…and he just took it like a gentleman. Duke has two sisters. Their names are Gladdy and Glitchy. He soon realized that they are very different from him. They are both overweight cats that could crush him like a little bug and they fully intended to as soon as we left the room.
Right away he was enamored with the funny noises that they made and the hair on their backs sticking strait up like Alfalfa from the Little Rascals. He just wanted to love them and lick their pointy ears but they wanted to make sure he knew that they were the bosses in this house. Read the rest of this entry »

Oh, little Duke’s first night…what an adventure. What everyone says is absolutely true, it was a sleepless night. Duke would whine…Aaron or I would go to his crate and grab him for a quick snuggle, then put him back. A few minutes would pass and just when my heavy eyes would fall, little Duke would whine again and the whole process would start over. Aaron and I slept out in the living room with him, thinking it would ease his mind if he could see us but obviously we were strangers to him so it didn’t help. Read the rest of this entry »
