Frist night crate training my puppy and advice?

I put a nice blanknt in there for him..should a put a toy? His crates in my room and i need sleep i put him in it today to see if he liked it and the second he was in he wanted to get out..any advice?

first of all let me congratulate you on your choice of training methods. its not only safe for your carpet but the dog has a place of his very own….the only thing you have to do is suffer through a couple of sleepless nights. the pup will realize that hes not gonna be in there forever, just dont give in, they are just like human babies and learn that if they get what they want when they throw a fit they will continue doing it..
i have a one year old poodle,,,,i have alway crate trained my dogs and love it…..the poodle i have now will walk into her cage at all different times of the day to nap. she considers it her “safe” place. and thats exactly what you want. never ever use the crate as a punishment, you dont want anything negitive to be associated with it at all. good luck on the new member of your family
