Duke Meets His Sisters
Duke has two sisters. Their names are Gladdy and Glitchy. He soon realized that they are very different from him. They are both overweight cats that could crush him like a little bug and they fully intended to as soon as we left the room.
Right away he was enamored with the funny noises that they made and the hair on their backs sticking strait up like Alfalfa from the Little Rascals. He just wanted to love them and lick their pointy ears but they wanted to make sure he knew that they were the bosses in this house. They hit him repeatedly in the face as he would charge towards them (thank God they are declawed or we would have some major vet bills on our hands). With good intentions on his part, he let them think they were in charge and submitted to them.
After about a week of Gladdy and Glitchy’s bossy behavior, Duke started to fight back. He began to hit them in the face just like they taught him. But it didn’t stop here…he started to hit his doggy friends in the face too. They would bark, growl and nip at him and would retaliate would a slap across the face…we had created a wimpy monster. We have a lot of work to do to teach this dog that he isn’t a cat.
