Meet Duke
He is an eight week old puggle (i.e. his mom is a beagle and his dad is a pug). The road to finding our little Duke has been hard but the journey has been fun. If you’re reading this blog, you probably either have or want a puggle and know how difficult it is to find them.
I first heard of the breed a month ago. I was running down by the beach and a woman had a 6 month old puggle. Naturally, I inquired of the breed of the puppy and she explained that they were the hottest designer dog on the market and they were recently featured on NBC’s Today’s Show. I fell in love. The puppy was so playful and cute. I knew I had found the puppy for me. I couldn’t wait to go home and research this breed and find out where I could get one.
First, I had to convince my boyfriend that we needed a dog (we already have two cats). Up till now, Aaron was not a dog person. Everytime I would see a puppy I would gush and try to get him to join in. It didn’t happen. I couldn’t understand how someone wouldn’t want a chocolate lab or golden retriever but I couldn’t move him. Until I came home from my run, hopped on the Internet, and shared the pictures of little puggle puppies that I found. I couldn’t believe it. He was excited. He wanted one too. Was I dreaming? Do we actually agree that this is the dog for us?
